Welcome to Healesville Sanctuary's ‘What's Up Skip' Film Festival 2010.
From Skippy's adventures in the Australian bush to 'My name is Dale Kerrigan and this is my story', Aussies know how to spin a good yarn.  Catch some of Australia's best-loved tales under the stars at Healesville Sanctuary during the What's Up Skip? Film Festival.

Arrive from 6pm and settle in amongst the towering gums for an evening of entertainment.  A fun Skippy trivia session will be followed by and episode of the classic TV series.  Then, as the sun sets, your feature film will commence.........  

Running for three consecutive Saturday nights during March 13, 20, 27 and April 3 and 24 (ANZAC Eve) which features a special screening of the digitally remastered Gallipoli, there's something for everyone at this family friendly event. 

Healesville Sanctuary has recently partnered with the team from the renowned Healesville Hotel.  Add a taste of the Yarra Valley to your evening with regionally inspired food and wines available on the night or pre-book a delicious hamper with your tickets.

Tickets can be pre-purchased via this website or call our sales team on 1300 ZOOSVIC. Ticket sales are limited and pre-purchase is recommended to avoid disappointment. Booked out sessions will be advised via the website.  On-the-day ticket sales may be available - please call Healesville Sanctuary on 5957 2816.

Children under 4 enter free of charge.  All children to 15 years must be accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian. If they are not they can be refused entry and will not receive a refund on their tickets. Proof of ID may be requested.

How do FOTZ Members pre-purchase Tickets?
FOTZ Members may purchase tickets at the discounted rate via all the ticket options above. FOTZ members tickets are not transferable and members will need to show their membership card & ID along with their movie ticket on the day of the movie to gain entry.

Location:
Healesville Sanctuary is located in Glen Eadie Avenue, Badger Creek.  From Maroondah Highway turn left into Badger Creek Road until your reach the roundabout at the ‘T' intersection. Turn right at the roundabout to enter the Sanctuary visitor car park where ample parking is available. 

Movies will be shown at the Koala Picnic Area situated just beyond the entry.  This lawn setting, surrounded by the stunning bushland and majestic manna gums, is the perfect backdrop to enjoy fabulous Yarra Valley food and wines and a movie!  

Wildlife viewing:
There will be special animal encounters from 6.30 each evening in the Koala Picnic Area. The greater Sanctuary will not be open after 6pm, but visitors are welcome to spend the day at the Sanctuary by purchasing general entry tickets. Movie tickets are additional to general entry.  

Eat, Drink Yarra Valley:
Enjoy a taste of the Yarra Valley with your movie!  The team from the Healesville Hotel have recently partnered with Healesville Sanctuary to bring our guests a sensational Yarra Valley food and wine experience!

On offer will be fabulous BBQ'd artisan sausages, marinated vegetable brochettes, a selection of Sanctuary Harvest salads and cones of house made popcorn. 

From the bar, enjoy local beers including White Rabbit and Hargreaves, a selection of Yarra Valley Wines including Sticks Sauvignon Blanc and Airlie Bank Shiraz Viognier by the glass or bottle, as well as a selection of Schweppes soft drinks, bottled water and a range of icecreams.  Please note no BYO alcohol

Great Genovese coffee will be available at Candelbark Café from 6pm until sunset.

What to Bring:
For the viewing convenience of all patrons, picnic blankets are preferred.  Patrons preferring to bring chairs will be positioned towards the rear lawn areas to avoid obstruction of viewing for other patrons.

You can bring your own picnic food.  Please note this is a managed event with NO BYO alcohol allowed.

Healesville Sanctuary is an outdoor all weather venue so be prepared and bring appropriate items for all weather conditions.

Site exclusions:
We advise that tables, market and beach umbrellas, glass, tents and sunshelters, balloons, party poppers, balls, roller blades, skate boards, whistles are not permitted in the Sanctuary.

Smoke Free:
Healesville Sanctuary is a smoke-free zone and smoking is not permitted within the Sanctuary.

  

TICKET CONDITIONS

Cancellations:
The ‘What's Up Skip' Movie festival is consistent with the Zoos Victoria event raincheck policy which is NO RAINCHECKS.

In the event that a performance may need to be cancelled, every effort will be made to communicate this information to movie patrons through the media, website, phone, signage and at the Sanctuary entrances and via information from the admissions staff.  Please call 5957 2800 on the day of the event or check our website http://www.zoo.org.au/ for up-to-date information.  

Where a movie night is cancelled due to inclement weather, another night will be scheduled as advised via our website and pre-purchased tickets will be honoured for the replacement event.

Considerations for exceptions to the above policy will apply in the following situations:

  • The Sanctuary is closed prior to 6.00pm due to storm damage, CODE RED days, or for other emergency reasons.
  • Cancellation of advertised movies due to inclement weather prior to the movie being screened, where the visitor has not received timely warning of the cancellation, via various media, prior to entering the Sanctuary.

Refunds:
We strictly do not offer refunds unless the event has been cancelled and an alternative date not offered to patrons.   

Viewing:
The ‘What's Up Skip' movie event is a general admission picnic-style event, where every attempt to ensure visibility of the movie screen, particularly on busy sell-out evenings.
