Zoos Victoria's three properties – Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary – are evolving as zoos for the 21st century.

This evolution is highlighted by recent developments including the Orang-utan Sanctuary at Melbourne Zoo, Kubu River Hippos at Werribee Open Range Zoo and the Australian Wildlife Health Centre at Healesville Sanctuary. The Marine Precinct development, due to open in 2009, is also well underway at Melbourne Zoo.

These immersive exhibits have been developed to better connect people with wildlife and further Zoos Victoria’s commitment to community engagement, research, animal care, field conservation and sustainability.
