'Open Vehicle Adventures' celebrate 10th Brithday

The Open Vehicle Adventure up close with the giraffes

Werribee Open Range Zoo is celebrating the success of its Open Vehicle Adventures by increasing the number of tours available to the public.

For the month of May, adventure seekers will be able to enjoy this special experience more frequently with tours available six times per day, seven days a week.

The special tour, which has been operating for ten years, takes visitors on an amazing adventure through almost 500 acres of open savannah.

“Imagine getting up close to grazing rhinos, zebras and giraffes and experiencing the world’s only drive through hippopotamus experience,” Werribee Open Range Zoo Director Jenny Gray said.

“This experience is different to our normal safari tour as the open-sided smaller vehicles allow visitors to get closer and more personal with our magnificent animals such as rhino, giraffe, zebra and antelope.”

The Open Vehicle Adventure Tour is one of several special tours at the Werribee Open Range Zoo. Other tours include Slumber Safaris, Rip Roaring Feed, Raising Rhinos and the Tall Order Giraffe Encounter.

“These special tours make a perfect gift for true animal lovers or that special someone who has everything. It could also be the perfect gift for mum with Mother’s Day just around the corner,” Ms Gray said.

“Why travel thousands of kilometres, when the best of Africa is only 30 minutes from Melbourne?”
