Free Guided Tours of the Walking Trails
Werribee Open Range Zoo’s volunteer guides offer free one-hour tours. The guides have undergone an extensive training course with Zoo staff and other experts, covering topics ranging from the history of the Zoo, specific animal information, and grasslands flora and fauna. Guides are available most days, but it is preferable to book, especially for large groups.

Meerkat Bistro & Function Centre
Enjoy a range of hot and cold snacks and light meals in the licensed Meerkat Bistro. Open every day 9.00am–5.00pm, with lunch served from noon to 2.30pm. Morning and afternoon teas are also available.

Take-away
Fast food and snacks are available from the Kiosk or the Bistro (if the Kiosk is closed).

Groups
Special lunches and morning/afternoon teas are available in the Bistro. Fully catered group barbecue packages are also available at the African Village or the barbecue site (site fees apply).

Barbeque and Picnic Facilities
Visitors are welcome to bring picnic food into Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Please note: the barbecue facility is only available when the barbecue area is hired. Barbecues are not available for casual use by visitors. Group picnic sites or barbecue areas can be booked through the bookings office (site fees apply):

Please do not feed the animals. Human food does not form part of a naturally balanced diet for our wildlife.

Safari Shop
The Safari Shop is a great place to buy quality African and Australian gifts and souvenirs. Stamps are also available. All profits from the shop contribute to the care and upkeep of the Zoo’s animals and plants.Open every day 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Wheelchairs and Pushers
Werribee Open Range Zoo has an easy-to-follow pathway system with access for people using wheelchairs and pushers. Wheelchairs are also available for hire from the Ticket Office.

Wheelchair hire: $2.20

All prices are GST inclusive.

Note: The Zoo guides can provide a buggy service for up to three people. This service is subject to availability and bookings are recommended.
