Fur, feathers, scales and skin

Body coverings identify and protect our wildlife

This multisensory program is designed to help young students appreciate how body coverings assist survival and make our wildlife unique.

Your zoo educator will help students to explore the textures, purposes and colours of the different body coverings that animals possess. Through exploring and hands on animal encounters, students appreciate the role of different animal features and ultimately understand that animals have a diverse range of adaptations to aid survival.

Exploring similarities and differences, interacting with unique wildlife and appreciating the world from another's perspective are just some of the understandings your students will gain in this fun program.
