Habitat heroes

Saving our endangered animals starts with protecting the natural homes where they live
Many animals' habitats are under threat. In this endangered species program students meet a variety of animals and partner with Melbourne Zoo in supporting one of our conservation programs.
Students will examine the threats to different species, and explore ways to protect animals and their habitats.
Pre visit
- Create a concept map to find out what the students already know about local animal habitats and what they would like to know.
- Encourage students to construct a list of things they would like to know before they visit the Zoo.
- Visit Actwild.org.au to learn more about endangered wildlife.
Post visit
- Your class and school is encouraged to report on your conservation actions. Melbourne Zoo would appreciate regular updates, photos, stories, and videos. All reports can be sent to habitatheroes@zoo.org.au
