Meet our mob of happy hoppers at Kangaroo Country. Get up close and learn about this fascinating species. Our daily Kangaroo Keeper Talk will also teach you unique 'roo' facts at 11:30am.
Little bouncers will love this exhibit, as they can explore wombat burrows, follow the journey of a joey, take a photo in the pouch of a giant kangaroo and more.
Kangaroo Island Kangaroo
These furry marsupials, a sub-species of the Western Gray Kangaroo, are native to Kangaroo Island in South Australia. A social species, they are relaxed, friendly and curious. They live in mobs with a dominant male as leader, and feast on hay, mixed grains, carrots, and bark on leafy branches.
Red Kangaroo
The Red Kangaroo is semi-nomadic and can be found across most areas of central Australia, especially in shady spots on open plains. They feed on grasses and other small plants. Red Kangaroos breed all year round. When the joey is eight months old, it finally ventures out of the pouch.

Goodfellow's Tree-kangaroo
The Goodfellow’s Tree-kangaroo is native to rainforests in Papua New Guinea. This iconic Endangered species is easily identifiable by it's striking eyes and beautiful burgundy pelt which features golden stripes. Enjoy our daily keeper talk at 11.15am.
