Meet our bachelor boys in an exciting behind-the-scenes experience!
Male lions are only king of the jungle for a short time. For a large part of their life, male lions live on their own or in small groups made up of other males. These small societies are called bachelor groups, and the number of males in a group depends on whether or not they are related.
In this experience you will be able to get up close with our bachelor group of three brothers, under the guidance of our wonderful keepers. Find out about the shifting dynamics of dominance that happens within a group of male lions and see the sibling rivalry that a lunchtime meal can produce.
Meeting the lions at Melbourne Zoo is an important way to contribute to fighting species extinction and to learn about the Zoo’s conservation programs.
Together we can improve animal care, reduce threatening processes and save endangered species.
Your donation helps us fight extinction and care for our animals.
