Spring Possums and Blossoms
Meet Pip and Petal, two Common Ringtail Possum babies who LOVE flowers! These two aren’t siblings but they are best friends. They’re both around five months old and were brought into the Australian Wildlife Health Centre at Healesville Sanctuary for different reasons. Pip was admitted with a nasty cat bite wound and Petal’s mum was hit by a car and killed.
They are now being hand-raised by the caring veterinary team at Healesville Sanctuary. They have milk feeds every six hours and love treats like browse tips and flowers. They are both very cheeky and can be found running around and climbing all over furniture. They love cuddles from their vet mums who say they are becoming more curious and adventurous and, like all babies, are growing up too fast!
If you’re visiting Healesville Sanctuary these school holidays you might be lucky enough to see them at the Australian Wildlife Health Centre where there are many Spring babies to get acquainted with.
Don't forget, your babies and children are free during Victorian Government school holidays!
