Turtles on the move

Healesville Sanctuary vets released Mr. Meccano, a Common Long-necked Turtle back into a dam at Domaine Chandon last week.

Mr. Meccano was one of 25 turtles that have been bought into the Australian Wildlife Health Centre this season after being hit by cars.

Baby elephant's first 3 days

Dokkoon and baby take a little stroll

Under the watchful eye of mum Dokkoon and big sister Mali, Melbourne Zoo’s new male elephant calf has ventured out for the second time.

Keepers were on hand to monitor the baby as he excitedly explored his new surroundings, eagerly following mum around the paddock.

It's A Boy!

Asian Elephant Dokkoon has given birth overnight to her second calf.

Born at 2:40am and weighing in at 131 kilograms, the male calf is the fourth Asian Elephant to be born at Melbourne Zoo.
