Member MAY-hem terms and conditions

This Zoos Victoria Members’ May-Hem Promotion (“Promotion”) is offered subject to the terms and conditions set out below "Terms and Conditions". 

The promoter of this Competition is the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board trading as Zoos Victoria (the “Promoter”) ABN 96 913 959 053, located at the address of Elliott Avenue, Parkville VIC 3052.

Who can enter?

Entry is only available to active Zoos Victoria Members (“Members”). Should a winner be under the age of 16 years, the prize will be awarded to a parent or guardian 16 years of age or over. Zoos Victoria reserves the right to require an entrant to produce identification and / or proof of age.  

Employees, officers (including volunteers and board members) and contractors (and their immediate families) of the Promoter or of the agencies or companies associated with this Promotion are ineligible. "Immediate family" of a person means the parents, siblings, children, and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto) of that person and any person associated with the Competition.

Promotional Dates 

Member May-hem promotional period begins at 9am Thursday 1st May 2025 and ends at 5pm Saturday 31st May 2025. 

Daily prize giveaways will be conducted randomly between standard opening hours at each of Zoos Victoria properties, namely Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Kyabram Fauna Park (collectively called “zoos”). 

Weekly prize draws will be conducted on Monday 5th May, Monday 12th May, Monday 19th May, Monday 26th May plus Monday 2nd June at Zoos Victoria Corporate Office, Elliot Ave Parkville.

Major prize draw will be conducted at 12pm on Monday 2nd June 2025 at Zoos Victoria Corporate Office, Elliot Ave, Parkville.

How to Enter Prize Draws

  1. All active Zoos Victoria members at the time of each draw will automatically receive one entry into the draw.  

  1. Each visit by an active Zoos Victoria member at one of Zoos Victoria’s four zoos between 1st May 2025 and the time of the weekly or major prize draw will constitute an additional entry into the draw. Valid for all scanned visits during regular opening hours up to 31st May 2025. 

  1. Members (including children) must scan their membership card on entry on the day of their visit, during normal operating hours when the zoo is open to the public. Opening and closing times vary for each zoo and you can check them on the website (https://www.zoo.org.au).  

  1. Entry to the giveaway is free for Zoos Victoria Members and will be automatically processed using member and visit data stored in the membership database. 

  1. A minimum of sixty (60) members we be randomly selected daily across the four zoos for an instant giveaway. Random selection will occur at each of the four zoos, and includes current members scanning in for a visit, new members signing up or lapsed members renewing.  

  1. Twenty-nine (29) winners will be drawn weekly by random selection each Monday starting 5th May for the duration of the giveaway. Non-winning entries remain in the pool for a chance to win for the duration of the competition.  

  1. Twenty-nine (29) winners will be drawn by random selection at the conclusion of the giveaway for the major prize draw on Monday 2nd June.  

  1. Winning entries for both the weekly and major prizes will be cross-checked and verified against the membership database to ensure eligibility.  

  1. Winners will be notified by details provided by the member in the member database. Non-winning members will not be notified.

Terms and Conditions for Prize Draws

  1. The total retail prize value is approximately $130,000 (AUD), includes GST, with a total of 2,205 winners over the duration of the giveaway.  

  1. No component of any prize can be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. In the event that a prize becomes unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to provide similar product to the same or greater value as the original prize, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation. 

  1. All other costs associated with the prizes, including but not limited to travel, parking, food, transport, insurance, entry and other collection costs are the responsibility of the winners. 

  1. The Prize Winner and guests must comply with all the standard terms and conditions of entry.  

  1. The Promoter will not be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage caused, or suffered by a winner in relation to any person entering into the Giveaway or accepting or using any prize. 

  1. Experience prizes do not include entry to the zoos. Winners and their guests must hold valid a valid Zoos Victoria Membership or purchase entry tickets at time of redeeming the prize.  Winners must comply with all safety instructions and experience terms and conditions.  

  1. Experience prizes may have minimum age requirements for safety and welfare reasons. Unless otherwise stated children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 8 and under must be supervised by a 1:1 adult to child ratio. Children aged 9-15 must be supervised by a 1:2 adult to child 

  1. Notification and claiming the Prize: Following each Prize draw, the winners will be notified using the contact details provided by the member in the membership database.  Each winning Entrant has one (1) week from the time and date of the notification being sent to respond, provide proof of eligibility, and claim the Prize. If the Prize is not claimed by the winning Entrant within this time frame, the Prize will be redrawn, and any previous winners will forgo all claims to the Prize. 

  1. Details for how to redeem will be provided upon claiming the prize.  

  1. Proof of ID or age may be required to claim the prize and is at the discretion of the Promoter. 

  1. The Promoter reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice and at any stage during the promotion. 

  1. If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter’s conduct of the Competition or the Promoter’s ability to deliver the prize/s to the prize winner/s of the Competition, the Promoter may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions or select another winner. 

  1. You acknowledge that the Promoter is under no obligation to exercise any of the rights granted to it by these Terms and Conditions and any communication of your entry to the public by the Promoter is at the complete discretion of the Promoter. 

  1. You agree that the Promoter may use your entry, any personal details and photographic material related to the prize provided to the Promoter for any promotional, marketing and publicity purposes of the Promoter in any media without notice and without any fee being paid to you. 

  1. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. 

  1. Decisions of the Promoter are final and will be binding on each person who enters the Competition, and no correspondence will be entered into. 

  1. All times and dates specified in these Terms and Conditions are times and dates in Melbourne, Australia AEST.  

Specific Conditions for Prizes

In addition to general Terms and Conditions above, specific details for each prize type are listed below 

Slumber Safari Overnight Experience 

  • Experience is valid for up to 4 people, children or adults, sharing a maximum of two lodges 

  • Experience takes place at Werribee Open Range Zoo, on a scheduled slumber safari date 

  • Booking must be arranged and taken by 30 June 2026  

Five Year Zoos Victoria Membership 

  • Membership is valid for 2 adults, to be nominated by the winner 

  • Up to 5 children may be added from the same household as one or both adults  

  • Memberships are not transferrable, and winner must provide full names and dates of birth of recipients 

  • For current Zoo Members, membership will be applied as an extension to current membership, ensuring continuation of membership cards 

Yearly Coffee Subscription 

  • Zoos Victoria Coffee for Wildlife delivered to the winner’s home address from Zoos Victoria 

  • 1 x 250gm bag per week for 52 weeks, posted out monthly.  

  • It is the responsibility of the winner to notify Zoos Victoria of any change of address 

  • Choice between ground or coffee beans. 

3 Night Oaks Hotel Stay 

  • 1 x 3 night stay in a 2 bedroom apartment at any Melbourne Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites Hotels Property  

  • Prize will be awarded as an Oaks voucher valid until 1 May 2026

Melbourne Zoo Roar ‘n’ Snore 

  • Winner and 1 guest will explore the zoo after dark during this unique overnight camping experience 

  • Experience takes place at Melbourne Zoo, on a scheduled Roar ‘n’ Snore date 

  • Booking must be arranged and taken by 30 June 2026 

Melbourne Zoo Ultimate VIP Experience 

  • Winner and 1 guest will indulge in the ultimate exploration of Melbourne Zoo behind the scenes on this half day adventure  

  • Minimum age 10 years, a child between 10-16 years must be accompanied by an adult  

  • Experience takes place at Melbourne Zoo, on a mutually agreed date between 2nd June – 19th September 2025, Monday – Friday, excluding public holidays  

Werribee Open Range Zoo VIP Elephants Experience 

  • Winner and 1 guest will enjoy a one-of-a-kind behind the scenes Elephant Habitat experience  

  • Both participants must be aged over 16 years

  • Experience will take place at Werribee Open Range Zoo on a mutually agreed date between 1 September 2025 – 31 May 2026

Healesville Sanctuary Detection Dog VIP Experience 

  • Each winner and 4 guests will venture into the Coranderrk Bushland to meet Zoos Victoria’s Conservation Detection Dog Team and observe a training session  

  • Experience will take place at Healesville Sanctuary on a mutually agreed date in September 2025 (Monday – Thursday) 

Kyabram Fauna Park Meet the Dingoes – Howl, Train and Treat 

  • Winner and 3 guests will be given the bespoke opportunity to engage in behind-the-scenes positive reinforcement training with the dingoes  

  • Experience will take place at Kyabram Fauna Park on a mutually agreed weekday 

  • Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 3 must be held or hold the hand of an adult.  

  • Must be booked by 31 August 2025

Kyabram Fauna Park Nocturnal Native Tour 

  • Winner and 9 guests will be guided on a bespoke after-hours tour, observing the many nocturnal animals come to life as the sun starts to set and watching the spectacular sunset over the wetlands   

  • Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 3 must be held or hold the hand of an adult

  • Experience will take place at 5:30pm at Kyabram Fauna Park, on a mutually agreed date between 4 -22 August 2025 

  • Must be booked by 20 July 2025 

Zoos Victoria $200 Gift Card 

  • Each winner will receive one $200 Zoos Victoria gift card, sent electronically to the email address provided 

  • Zoos Victoria Gift Cards can be used for admission tickets, memberships, animal encounters, overnight experiences and in the onsite Zoo Shop

  • Zoos Victoria Gift Cards cannot be used at catering outlets 

  • Zoos Victoria Gift Cards are valid for 3 years from the issue date

Melbourne Zoo Animal Experiences

 Kyabram Fauna Park Zoo Keeper for a Day 

  • Winner will receive 2 reserved spots for the popular Zoo Keeper for a Day program at Kyabram Fauna Park during the Spring holidays (20 Sept – 5 Oct 2025: Tues, Wed & Thur)

  • Details of experience, including running times and age restrictions available here

  • Must be booked by 31 August 2025 to guarantee place 

Kyabram Fauna Park Prize Pack

  • Three prize packs will be given away randomly to members weekly at Kyabram Fauna Park
  • Each winner will be awarded ONE prize pack which will include a voucher and merchandise
  • The contents within the prize pack may change without notice 

Daily Zoos Victoria Animal Experience 

  • A minimum of two animal experiences for two people will be given away randomly to members daily at each property

  • Animal experience is at the discretion of each zoo admissions team based on availability 

  • Animal experience is only available to be taken on the day and is not transferrable or exchangeable for a different experience or a different day  

  • Experience does not include zoo entry. Winning member and all participants must hold valid Zoos Victoria memberships at time of partaking in the experience, or pay entry costs to the zoo 

Zoos Victoria General Admission Double Pass

  • One general admission double pass will be given away randomly to members daily at each property

  • General admission passes are eligible for upgrade to Zoos Victoria membership 

  • Zoos Victoria General Admission Double Passes are valid for 12 months from date of issue

Village Cinemas Double Pass

  • One Village Cinemas double pass will be given away randomly to members daily at one of the four properties 

Petstock $30 Voucher 

  • One Petstock $30 voucher will be given away randomly to members daily at one of the four properties 

Zoos Victoria Free Coffee Cards

  • Four free coffee cards will be given away randomly to members daily at each property

  • In the event that any coffee cards are not distributed on a given day, the remaining cards will be carried over and added to the next day's giveaway

  • Coffee cards valid for one regular coffee at Zoos Victoria catering outlets at all zoos

Streets Icy Twists 

  • A total of 1000 free Icy Twists will be given away randomly to members at Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary throughout May 2025 

  • Not exchangeable for other items

Melbourne Zoo Carousel Passes

  • A total of 1,800 carousel passes will be given away randomly to members at Melbourne Zoo

  • Carousel passes will only distributed on Saturdays and Sundays during May when the carousel is open at Melbourne Zoo

  • Winners must follow the operational instructions provided by the Melbourne Zoo carousel staff
